Blackjack Rules
In blackjack, each player competes only against the dealer (i.e. the bank), not against other players. Your goal as the player is to draw cards (i.e. hit) until your hand adds up to 21, or comes as close as possible without exceeding 21. If your first two cards total 21, you have blackjack. The blackjack game at William Hill Casino has these features : Select Card Games and then Blackjack from the games menu in the lower left-hand corner of your screen once you have entered the William Hill Casino lobby. You can then select either Private Play (to play alone, one-on-one with the dealer) or Multi Player (to play at a table among other players). Game Settings is a separate alternative. Select Private Play to play alone at your own exclusive Blackjack table. By default, the private table betting limits are set as £1 minimum - £1,000 maximum. You can alter these betting limits at your table by selecting Blackjack Game Settings from the games menu. Press the Multi Player button to display the tables in the different rooms. Information about each table - Reserved, Public or Practice Table - is also displayed on this screen. To find out the table limits for each table, drag your mouse over the tables. To move to different gaming rooms, click the arrows above the tables. Select a table with a vacant seat at a Public or Reserved table by clicking on the table. You can take any vacant seat at a public table, but to join a reserved table, you must first ask permission of that table's sponsor. If you join a reserved table a Request to Join dialog box will open. Enter your request-to-join message in the box and press Send. The sponsor of the reserved table will receive your message and accept or decline your request to join. You can open a new Public or Reserved table by clicking on an empty table. If you open a reserved table, you will become the table's sponsor and all request-to-join messages from hopeful players will be directed to you. To observe the action at a specific table before you decide to join and play yourself, simply click on the table. To access the guest book and table settings function, click on the Guest Book and Settings buttons in the bottom left corner of the screen. If the total value of your cards is closer to 21 than the dealer's, you win as much as you have wagered. If you have blackjack, you win 3 to 2 times your bet (assuming the dealer does not also have blackjack). Aces count as either 1 or 11, face cards as 10, and remaining cards according to their number values. If the total of your cards exceeds 21, you bust and lose your wager. If you have the same card total as the dealer, from 17 and up, no one wins and you get your stake back in a push. Blackjack beats a score of 21. The blackjack game at William Hill Casino uses six decks of cards, which are shuffled after each round. The game follows standard Las Vegas Strip rules with the following exceptions : If your first two cards are of the same value, you may split them into two separate hands, placing a second wager of equal value. You then proceed to draw cards as usual. However, if you split two aces, you get only one additional card for each hand. If you split two aces and one of your hands totals 21, this is not considered blackjack, but 21. You cannot split a split hand. When you have been dealt two cards, and believe that a third card may give you a position to beat the dealer's hand, you can double down. Your wager is doubled, and you are allowed to hit and receive just one additional card. Insurance is a game of its own within blackjack, and gives you the chance to protect yourself when you believe that the dealer may have blackjack. If the dealer's first card is an ace, and if you believe that the dealer's hole card is of value 10, you may buy insurance against dealer blackjack at the price of half your initial bet. If the dealer does have blackjack, the insurance pays 2 to 1, corresponding to the amount of your initial bet. If you have bought insurance, and the dealer does not have blackjack, you lose your insurance. Your initial bet is then settled by comparing your cards with the dealer's. Should you and the dealer both have blackjack, the game results in a push. The dealer must draw cards until he has at least 17, and must stand at 17 or higher. If the dealer gets 16, he must take another card. The dealer may not decide whether or not to draw a card based on your hand, but must abide by existing dealer rules. On the other hand, your player strategy should be guided by two factors : Start by pressing the Join button within the game. A player can choose to play a maximum number of three hands alone. Next, use your left mouse button to click on the value of the chip you wish to bet. The wagered chip will appear in the betting box on the blackjack table. The player can regret a wagered chip before the game begins by clicking on the wagered chip with the right mouse button to remove it. The table betting limits are £1 - 1,500, £50 - 2,500, or £200 - 5,000 The Super 7 is only a side bet to the original Blackjack. You may put £1 as a bet on a pattern of cards with a 7. See the in game table bet limits for payout rates. In blackjack, the Options dialog box offers the following game settings :Blackjack
