Jacks or Better

To play the game:

• Use the + and – buttons on the right of the screen to increase or decrease the value of the coin you use to bet with for the round.
• The maximum bet allowed is five coins. To place this bet click on Bet Max, after doing so the cards are dealt. To place a smaller bet click on Bet One, this adds one coin to the bet; the button can be clicked up to five times. An alternative method of placing a bet is by clicking on the column on the winning table that represents the size of bet you wish to make.
• Click Deal to receive your cards if you have used the Bet One button.
• To hold a card, simply click on Hold or the card itself.
• Click on Deal to exchange the cards that were not held.
• If you didn't win, then that is the end of the round and you can begin again. If you did win, proceed to the next section.

Doubling:

Having won a round you can collect your winning by clicking on Collect. Alternatively you can bet your winnings by clicking on Double.

There is an option to bet half your winnings and save the rest, to do this click on Half Double.

For the duration of doubling, the Win screen shows how much can be won whilst the Bet screen shows how much has been bet.

Buttons:

Bet Max	Gamble the maximum of five coins and deal the cards.
Bet One	Increase your bet by one coin; this can be done up to five times. Once you’ve finished betting click Deal to receive cards for the round.
Deal	Obtain a new hand of cards or trade cards that were not held for new ones.
Hold	Select a card to hold using this button. To de-select a card click the button again. Clicking on the card you wish to select or de-select is also possible. When doubling is taking place, these buttons are used to play a card.

Shortcut keys

If you prefer using a keyboard you can use the following shortcut keys instead of a mouse.

Press this key	To do this
TAB	Move the focus to the next button on screen.
ENTER	Equivalent to clicking on the currently highlighted button.
SPACEBAR	Bet the same amount of money as in the preceding round and deal the cards for the next.
Numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.	Use the number keys to hold a card. Each number relates to a specific card, one relates to the first card on the left, two relates to the second and so forth.
ESC	Terminate the game.
